Enable USB Debugging and Root
  • Remove SIM card and then power the phone ON.
  • Enable USB debugging on your device:
    • Android 2.0-2.3.x: Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging
    • Android 3.0- 4.1.x: Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.
    • Android 4.2.x and higher: Settings > About Phone > Build number > Tap on "Build number" 7 times to enable developer options. Then Go to Settings>Developer Options>USB Debugging.
    • Android 5.0: the same as Android 4.2.x.
  • Install ADB drivers (only if the phone is connected for the first time).
    • You may use this ADB driver installer if you don't have ADB driver for your phone.
  • Root the smartphone, as it has to be rooted in order to be unlocked! Here are some of the solutions for rooting:
  • Restart the smartphone after rooting has been completed.
Fix “Software IMEI: Not found” issues

In order to fix "Software IMEI: Not found" software issue in Huawei HiSilicon-based smartphones, please perform the following steps:

  1. Backup NV file from a working set and restore it into the corrupted one.
  2. Repair phone’s original IMEI
Backup calibration data

It's mandatory to root device before starting the operation!

  1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
  2. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable and no more further actions should be taken with the phone while the procedure is in progress!
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "Hi-Silicon" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Press "Backup calibration data" button and save NV file on your PC.
  8. The message "DONE" indicates that the procedure has been completed successfully.
  9. Disconnect the handset.

If you check “Write firmware” field during the Backup calibration data procedure, it allows to backup  modem firmware and save it into a NV file.
Backup of a phone's NVRAM area is now stored locally on your PC.

Restore calibration data

It's mandatory to root device before starting the operation!                                                    

  1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
  2. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable and no more further actions should be taken with the phone while the procedure is in progress!
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "Hi-Silicon" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Press "Restore calibration data" button and select required NV file.
  8. The message "DONE" indicates that the procedure has been completed successfully.
  9. Disconnect the handset.

If you check “Write firmware” field during the Restore calibration data procedure, it allows to restore modem firmware (if a modem firmware is stored in a file).

Reminder! Before servicing the phone, please make sure that:

  1. You use the latest version of the software
  2. Battery must be connected to the phone's board and fully charged. Especially while performing operations using testpoint.
  3. All the side programs, that may interfere with the phone, are closed
  4. Phone’s cable and device itself should not be disconnected or disturbed until the procedure is fully completed
  5. Connect phone to USB port placed on the backside of PC (motherboard's USB port)
    Do not connect or disconnect other USB cables into the PC during the actual work with the phone
  6. Avoid using any kind of USB HUBs and long USB cables. Use the shortest-length USB cable available.
  7. Phone has stock (factory) firmware version
  8. SIM card is removed
