TI: Motorola Android Smartphones
- Install Motorola drivers (only if the phone is connected for the first time):
- Enable USB debugging on your device
- Usually, this option can be found under Settings > Applications > Development menu;
- Sometimes it's necessary to register / skip / login to a Motoblur account to get access to phone's menu
- Root the smartphone, as it has to be rooted in order to be unlocked! Here are some of the solutions for rooting:
- Using the software (Adb mode -> Root)
- Vroot
- Kingo root
- Restart the smartphone after rooting has been complete.
It's mandatory to root device before unlock!
- Close all the side programs that may interfere with the phone.
- Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
- Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
- Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
- Go to "Unlock" tab.
- Connect the phone to PC with micro USB cable.
- Select "Motorola Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
- Press "Unlock" button.
- Message "Unlocking phone… Done" indicates that procedure was completed successfully.
- Wait for the message "Restarting phone... Done" to appear in dialog window; only after that you can disconnect the phone.
If necessary, perform "unroot" using any 3rd party software.
Note: The service software supports GSM/UMTS Unlock for XT894 and XT912.

- Go to "IMEI" tab.
- Connect the phone to PC with micro USB cable.
- Select "Motorola Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
- Enter IMEI number in the "Phone IMEI" field.
- Press "Repair IMEI" button.
- The message "Done" indicates that procedure was completed successfully.
- Wait for the message "Restarting phone... Done" to appear in dialog window; only after that you can turn the phone off.
If necessary, perform "unroot" using any 3rd party software.
Note: XT894 and XT912 have 2 physical Radio-modules: LTE and GSM.
The service software supports Repair of the GSM-module's IMEI, only.

Reminder! Before servicing the phone, please make sure that:
- You use the latest version of the software
- Battery must be connected to the phone's board and fully charged. Especially while performing operations using testpoint.
- All the side programs, that may interfere with the phone, are closed
- Phone’s cable and device itself should not be disconnected or disturbed until the procedure is fully completed
- Connect phone to USB port placed on the backside of PC (motherboard's USB port)
Do not connect or disconnect other USB cables into the PC during the actual work with the phone - Avoid using any kind of USB HUBs and long USB cables. Use the shortest-length USB cable available.
- Phone has stock (factory) firmware version
- SIM card is removed
