Yoda Method via ADB mode (Strongly Recommended!)

Enable USB Debugging and Root
  • Remove SIM card and then power the phone ON.
  • Enable USB debugging on your device:
    • Android 2.0-2.3.x: Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging
    • Android 3.0- 4.1.x: Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.
    • Android 4.2.x and higher: Settings > About Phone > Build number > Tap on "Build number" 7 times to enable developer options. Then Go to Settings>Developer Options>USB Debugging.
    • Android 5.0: the same as Android 4.2.x.
  • Install ADB drivers (only if the phone is connected for the first time).
    • You may use this ADB driver installer if you don't have ADB driver for your phone.
  • Root the smartphone, as it has to be rooted in order to be unlocked! Here are some of the solutions for rooting:
  • Restart the smartphone after rooting has been completed.
Direct unlock
It's mandatory to root device before starting the operation!
  1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
  2. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable and no more further actions should be taken with the phone while the procedure is in progress!
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "Unlock" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Press "Direct unlock" button.
  8. The message "Unlock done… OK" indicates that the procedure has been completed successfully.
  9. Disconnect the handset.
  10. Phone is unlocked.
Get unlock codes

It's mandatory to root device before starting the operation!

  1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
  2. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable and no more further actions should be taken with the phone while the procedure is in progress!
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "Unlock" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Press "Get Unlock Codes" button.
  8. Message "Reading Unlock Codes… OK" indicates that the procedure has been completed successfully.
  9. Disconnect the handset.
Repair IMEI

It's mandatory to root device before starting the operation!

  1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
  2. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable and no more further actions should be taken with the phone while the procedure is in progress!
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "IMEI" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Enter IMEI number in the "Phone IMEI" field.
  8. Press "Repair IMEI" button.
  9. The message "Done" indicates that procedure has been completed successfully.
  10. Wait till the phone reboots.
Backup of NVRAM (via ADB)
It's mandatory to root device before starting the operation!
  1. Turn the rooted phone ON and wait until it fully starts up.
  2. Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable and no more further actions should be taken with the phone while the procedure is in progress!
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "MTK" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Press "Backup calibration data" button.
  8. The message "DONE" indicates that the procedure has been completed successfully.
  9. Disconnect the handset.
  10. Backup of a phone's NVRAM area is stored locally at your PC. This backup contains some crucial data - calibrations of phone radio module
Repair IMEI for MTK Alcatel smartphones with Android 5 / 6
  1. Install custom TWRP recovery for your phone
  2. Enter recovery mode. The Recovery screen should appear.
  3. Connect the phone to PC using USB cable
  4. Select "Android ADB" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
  5. Go to "IMEI" tab.
  6. Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
  7. Enter IMEI number in the "Phone IMEI" field.
  8. Press "Repair IMEI" button.
  9. The message "Done" indicates that procedure has been completed successfully.
  10. Wait till the phone reboots.

How to install recovery

  1. Enable Developer options (as usual)
  2. Developer options -> USB debugging (Debug mode when USB is connected) -> ON!
  3. Developer options -> OEM unlocking (Allow the bootloader to be unlocked) -> ON!
  4. adb reboot bootloader
  5. fastboot -i 0x1bbb oem unlock
  6. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Reminder! Before servicing the phone, please make sure that:

  1. You use the latest version of the software
  2. Battery must be connected to the phone's board and fully charged. Especially while performing operations using testpoint.
  3. All the side programs, that may interfere with the phone, are closed
  4. Phone’s cable and device itself should not be disconnected or disturbed until the procedure is fully completed
  5. Phone's connection:
    • Via USB: connect phone to USB port placed on the backside of PC (motherboard's USB port)
      Do not connect or disconnect other USB cables into the PC during the actual work with the phone
    • Via COM: use recommended Prolific / FTDI drivers only
  6. Avoid using any kind of USB HUBs and long USB cables. Use the shortest-length USB cable available.
  7. Phone has stock (factory) firmware version
  8. SIM card is removed
