Options
DTR & RTS control is a new drop-down list located in MTK "Options" tab. For the Box owners normal setting would be "SigmaBox (default)". Some phones (e.g. ZTE N292) require "IGNITION" procedure (providing voltage to charger input) instead of pressing "Power ON" button. To connect such phone, user have to use the specific cable and pick "SigmaBox (IGNITION)" option for "DTR & RTS control". Some FTDI boxes (cables) require specific setup of DTR and/or RTS signals in order to operate properly. There are four options available: DTR=off/on RTS=off/on.
Phone MCU boost mode
Accelerates operations execution in the phone.
Force simple mode (slower)
Certain flash memory chips have issues with block programming method. In this case it's possible to work with slower and more reliable flashing method – "word" flashing method. Such method is 3-4 times slower but allows you to work with wider variety of microchips. We recommend using this method in case you have any troubles with block method.
Smart write (faster)
With this option flashing process is accelerated by avoiding reprogramming if the data which is about to be programmed matches the existing data.
Check IMEI patch made by third party tool
This option is ticked off by default. It allows you to check whether software IMEI was patched by third-party software of not.
Use existing CUST_PARA data (Alcatel flashing)
With this option you'll be able to work with "CUST PARA" area in the phone's firmware. If "Upgrade firmware" option is active, then "CUST PARA" area will be preserved (i.e. backed up and restored after flashing). If "Upgrade firmware" option is inactive, this area will NOT be preserved and phone will use default data instead. Note that options "Upgrade firmware" and "Write full raw backup" are mutually exclusive.
Backup phone calibration data
Allows you to save phone's network calibration in the backup file.
Skip external RAM test (Research backup)
If the phone "freezes" during "test external RAM" operation, then "Skip external RAM test" option has to be ticked on. After operation phone's backup should be saved and sent to support@sigmakey.com. Please notice that if "Skip external RAM test" option is ticked on, all options except "Read phone backup" will be inactive.
Different types of MTK CPUs have different connection speed. Note that stability of the "Autodetect" function depends on your PC performance.
