Alcatel and ZTE Android Smartphones based on MT6516
Yoda Method via ADB mode (Strongly Recommended!)
- Enable USB debugging on the phone.
- Root the smartphone.
- Select "ADB Android" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software.
- Select "Adb interface" in the ports selection tab.
- Perform Direct Unlock / Repair IMEI / other service operations.

Generic Method
Unlock
- Select "MTK" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software
- Go to "Unlock" tab
- Turn the phone off
- Connect* turned off phone to PC
- Select an appropriate virtual COM port in the Software (usually the highest number)
- Important: select "Meta" in the "MTK boot" tab
- Press "Get unlock codes" button and follow the instructions in the log window
- Press and hold "Power ON" button on the phone
- As soon as the software shows an appropriate message in the log window, release "Power ON" button
- Message "Reading Unlock Codes… OK" indicates that procedure was completed successfully
- Disconnect the handset
- Turn the phone on with the non-original SIM card inserted
- Phone's menu will pop-up with unlock code request
- Enter the code that was read by the Software
- Phone is unlocked
* the phone has to be connected to PC COM port via any COM port emulator.
If you are a Box owner, connect the phone to PC via Box using "Mot EX" cable from the box package
(Options tab -> DTR & RTS settings has to be set to "sigmabox (default)").
Note that COM port MUST support 921600 baud rate.
Repair
This Repair IMEI feature is applicable only for devices with IMEI located in the file system (Software IMEI).
- Select "MTK" platform from the tab menu in the upper left side of the software
- Go to "IMEI" tab
- Turn the phone off
- Connect* turned off phone to PC
- Select an appropriate virtual COM port in the Software (usually the highest number)
- Important: select "Meta" in the "MTK boot" tab
- Enter IMEI number in the "Phone IMEI" field
- Press "Repair IMEI" button and follow the instructions in the log window
- Press and hold "Power ON" button on the phone
- As soon as the software shows an appropriate message in the log window, release "Power ON" button
- The message "Done" indicates that procedure was completed successfully
- Disconnect the handset. Remove and reinstall the battery
* the phone has to be connected to PC COM port via any COM port emulator.

Reminder! Before servicing the phone, please make sure that:
- You use the latest version of the software
- Battery must be connected to the phone's board and fully charged. Especially while performing operations using testpoint.
- All the side programs, that may interfere with the phone, are closed
- Phone’s cable and device itself should not be disconnected or disturbed until the procedure is fully completed
- Phone's connection:
- Via USB: connect phone to USB port placed on the backside of PC (motherboard's USB port)
Do not connect or disconnect other USB cables into the PC during the actual work with the phone - Via COM: use recommended Prolific / FTDI drivers only
- Via USB: connect phone to USB port placed on the backside of PC (motherboard's USB port)
- Avoid using any kind of USB HUBs and long USB cables. Use the shortest-length USB cable available.
- Phone has stock (factory) firmware version
- SIM card is removed
